Big Bend National Park Stealth Hood Overlay
Long before the Bronco came out it has been customary for off roaders to put matte material on their hood to cut out glare. This glare can come from the sun or lights mounted above the vehicle's hood.
Not only does it serve a function (potentially depending on the color you choose), but it can add some contrast and style at the same time.
This version is aimed directly at those who have a liking for Big Bend National Park. Just note the font that we chose to do the lettering for "Big Bend". The way this hood overlay works is that you have the main background color (matte black or gloss black) with another graphic overlay. The overlay is the opposite of the background. Choose a matte black background and the graphic is in gloss. Choose a gloss black background and the graphic is in matte.
Installing the main portion is the same as our original hood overlay. Once you have done that, clean the surface of the additional graphic. Additional graphic comes with transfer paper. We the back of the graphic and install it on top of the "main portion".
NOTE: 2 sets are sold at a reduced price. Keep it as a backup or in case your first install proves to be difficult.
If you choose graphic only, please choose the color that you want the graphic. If you have a matte hood overlay, you might want a gloss graphic and vice versa.

Colors
Matte black is one of the easiest colors to install in general. It stretches and responds to heat very well.
The gloss black we chose has air egress channels and that is why it is a little more expensive than standard colors. Air egress channels assist in providing a path for air to escape during installation (less bubbles). Some cost is also due to the fact that it is cast versus calendared.
All options have high outdoor durability ratings.
Installation
Clean the application area to prepare it for installation. Just use a wax free detailing spray if your vehicle is not too dirty.
NOTES: We recommend that the installation area be free of wax and not under direct sunlight.
- Microfiber
- Detailing Spray
- Soapy Water (we recommend our StickerFab Installation Fluid)
- Heat Gun or Hair Dryer (optional)
- Supplied Felt Tip Squeegee
3 item kit (microfiber, installation fluid, squeegee)
Wet installs require one drop of dish or hand soap in a cup of water. Apply to the vinyl so that the first attempt doesn't make the vinyl permanently stick to the surface. Then you can slide it around and push out the extra water once it is in place with your squeegee.
Try doing the install in the shade so it doesn't heat up the vinyl rapidly.
Watch our video for more details. We purposely did a long installation and did not skip any parts. You may fast forward and rewind at your own leisure.
NOTE: This is the video for the basic hood overlay which will serve as the background of the Big Bend graphic. Once you have installed it, clean it off and begin the additional graphic install.
Graphic only option is for those that do not want the larger hood overlay OR they already have it.
